The ILC offers a variety of workshops and seminars that address teaching strategies and instructional technologies. Our workshops typically take place in the ILC Multipurpose Room, located in the main building, unless otherwise noted. The workshops are also available on our calendar. Questions? Course Design Matters: Bringing Together Research & Action | Tuesday, February 20 | 10:45am-11:45am

Using Universal Design for Learning, research on cognitive load, student engagement, student retention, and student persistence, we will show how course design can make a positive impact on your students’ success in this online workshop. This event has the option to attend in person at the ILC or online via Zoom.

1-Hour POGIL Introductory Experience | Monday, February 26 | 2:30pm-3:30pm

Thinking about using group work but want more structure? Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning is an instructional strategy that provides opportunities for students to develop both content and key process skills at the same time. Join us to see how POGIL fits your course! 

Designing Meaningful Online Discussions | Thursday, February 29 | 12:30pm-1:00pm | via Zoom

This 30-minute brown bag Zoom workshop provides a space to collect and share best practices to motivate and facilitate student participation in online discussions.
